An animation film that is considerably famous these days is "Coco", which was released in 2017 by Pixar Animation Studios. It gained so much recognition thanks to its brilliant set of songs and the idea of following our personal dreams, something that we will comment later on. In the first place, we will talk a little about the movie.

The boy Miguel Rivera dreams of becoming a famous singer like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz. However, Miguel has an impediment. For the Rivera, music is prohibited since his great-great-grandfather abandoned his great-grandmother Mama Imelda and his daughter Coco, who is still alive, to achieve fame as a professional musician. For being Day of the Dead, according to the tradition, family altars are adorned with photos of ancestors and offerings since their existence in the world of the dead depends on maintaining the present memory. Miguel challenges his family and decides to appear in a singing contest on Day of the Dead, but his grandmother destroys his guitar. Then, Miguel flees and steals the guitar exposed in the mausoleum of Ernesto de la Cruz to act in the contest. But, touching his strings, a mysterious spell moves him to the world of the dead with his faithful friend Dante.

The only way to return to the world of the living is to have the blessing of one of their ancestors. Miguel finds them and hopes to receive her, but Mama Imelda demands that he give up music as a condition. Convinced that his great-grandfather will understand, Miguel flees to ask for the blessing of Ernesto de la Cruz. Miguel meets Hector, a deceased who knows De la Cruz. He proposes to help Miguel in exchange of putting his photo on the altar when he returns. Together they set out. Meanwhile, Mama Imelda and the clan look for Miguel. From this point, everything starts to get complicated, but if you want to know what happened you just have to watch the film. Even so, we are going to talk about the different messages of this amazing film.

On the one hand, the treatment of death is not sad, but rather comforting in presenting the connection of the dead and the living through memory. The film shows us that the dead depend, to continue existing, on the memory of the living. That's a great message because the majority of the people tend to remember their deceased loved ones with sadness, but in the movie this perspective seems really happy and pleasant.

On the other hand, the idea of following your own dreams appears in this movie without any doubts. From the point of view of Coco, everyone should be free to do whatever they like or want. We can see that in the figure of Miguel, whose family doesn't allow him to play the guitar and sing but he does it anyway. The idea of chasing our dreams is a must in our lives.

In conclusion, the idea of following our dreams and remembering our family is basically what this incredible story wants to transmit us. I completely recommend this film to everyone who loves animation because they won't like this film, they will love it.
